No Laughing Matter: Identity Theft

Image
Historically, I've written many articles about personal identity theft for your consumption and protection. But I have yet to summarize what you can do proactively. So please consider the following. It is not known where perp actors obtain personal information to commit acts of malfeasance, but what is known from a human capital perspective is: 1) there are rules and regulations which encapsulate the duration an entity is allowed to possess personal identifiers and 2) there are known methods of personal information destruction. Recommended, thus, and in a phenomenological context is proper disposal of personal information such as shredding the data. If you have experienced data theft, it is known you should contact the FTC and local authorities.  Worth considering, in addition, and much akin to exercises in sourcing, is always the nearest proximity rule. Establish etiology 1) how could access to personal information be obtained (who had access) and 2) what are the motivations of th...

Pts Attempts Toward Therapist Victimization

Image
As a former therapist who treated patients of most of the attorneys in a Southwestern state in the United States, it is commonplace for individuals, particularly those who lose a lawsuit in which they were involved, to stalk 1) not only their attorney but 2) their therapist(s) and others involved treating an alleged victim. It can become dangerous if an alleged victim does not win his/her lawsuit and can become the antecedent for conduct disorder against anyone involved with him/her not winning a lawsuit or "network". There can be, bnt is not always, issues of blame that insight conduct disorder. Reaching out to the FBI and local authorities regarding this issue has been commonplace, but never before did it involve ID'ing an individual. What follows is empirical data bolstering this issue. 'Violence toward mental health staff has been receiving national attention in the face of diminishing resources to treat what appears to be an increasingly violent patient populatio...

Intellectual Property Theft Ongoing from Doctoral Dissertations to Research

Image
Intellectual Property Theft & Personal Property Ongoing Ephisians 4:28 Anyone who has been stealing from a university student must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Nature Magazine reported in its August 2024 issue, the extent of intellectual capital theft from United States Universities. This dovetails many experiences of intellectual property theft occurring during Ph.D. development. One Scottsdale, Arizona University in particular denied cooperation with the FBI as to data breaches. Perhaps to protect its network of multi-cultural dissertation reviewers. However, private data regarding this Christian University was breached by someone who had access to student files, allegedly, because several students enrolled at aforementioned University have experience not only (1) Intellectual Capital Theft and (2) ID theft ongoing using private information verified upon enrollment. Widesprea...

Not Your Mother’s Career Guidance Kris Milne Ph.D. IV (psy ci), M.S., B.S., Researcher (health sciences), Data Analyst, Tech Writer, Teacher, VC-proficient. Department of Public Safety Clearance August 29, 2024 A humorous tale (as reposted from LinkedIn) (3-5 minute read) Have you ever had a conversation with a parent or grandparent about what you want to be when you grow up? It’s kind of fun to think back on ‘how we got here from there’ or to reminisce about our growing years. While writing this article, it was nice to reflect upon going to the hairdresser with my grandmother as a kid and wanting to be a stylist, and later visiting her at the high school where she was an English teacher and a counselor. Another recollection involved visiting my mom at the hospital where she scheduled surgeons and later joined them as an operating room (OR) nurse. I’ll always remember having lunch with her in the hospital cafeteria, or what was called the ‘basement’ located adjacent to the elevat...
