PTSD, War, Death, Rape, etc.
Writing things down and researching has become very personal to me -- as a mechanism, or tool, to mediate PTSD -- such as exposure to war and loss (as in addressing it therapeutically), as that's the only means I could use to serve.
Many Veterans I worked with utilize music as a method to treat trauma. And for me, in lieu of bracketing issues, regulating my stress level is chosen music therapy -- particularly Metallica.
Rape victims, and those who suffered war/death/injury first-hand, or heard about events during therapy sessions can choose many therapeutic measures to address trauma exposure. Music and art therapy are effective measures to mediate trauma (Landis-Shack, et. al., 2017), as perhaps many challenges address statue of limitations. And it's beautiful how Veterans tackle trauma first-hand.
