Amazon Further Supports Emphasis on Person and Home Health Focus

Additional YMCA Coded Analytics

Amazon bit for Signify appears to align with the corporation’s corporate messaging and support its CEO Andy Jassy’s focus on healthcare. Signify Health, with its focus on ‘bringing health homeward,’ Signify Health says it exists for a simple purpose:
to enable more happy, healthy days at home. Legitimacy was not scientifically observed, as public access to interchanges of company data, of due diligence.

The deal, a purchase of Signify by Amazon, is projected to be worth around $8B, and makes solid sense at first and second blush, inductively, as based upon preliminary analysis of three thematic areas aligned with Amazon’s core business practices, and based on the broad market topic of healthcare consolidation. Inductive analysis underscores this move based on the thematic framework of person-centered care:

!) Support for Amazon’s vision, mission, and values – specifically its brand, and Andy Jassy’s focus on helping people ease accessibility to essentials for wellness care, most particularly for underprivileged groups and disabled;

2) This acquisition would also support Amazon’s commitment toward leveraging internal analytics, inductive projections, of informed market offerings, and in support of market adaptation theory; (Amazon bolstered its value to consumers and home health during Covid by bringing needed items to housebound individuals, supporting its highest standards of help for citizens during crisis); and

3) The Signify move would also supports Jassy’s focus on person centered healthcare, likely emphasized in his Harvard MBA training.

Psychology is a significant attribute underscoring how to do business, as conducting interchanges with its customers, partners, and other market constituents to leverage emotional intelligence of interchanges with others. This notion aligns with Amazon’s business model.

Amazon’s CEO, Andy Jassy, a Harvard educated MBA, facilitated his first acquisition while at the company’ helm, with One Life Health for $3.9B. The tenets of psychologist Carl Rogers, known for his person-centered approach to interchanges could be made simpler, more inviting, and optimistic, said Rogers, if carried out with this underlying tenet of understanding, rather than some agenda of psychodynamic proprietors.

Personally, as a business psychologist, I tend to agree with Rogers. “Do business based on a person-centered approach with people who get the value,” says Milne. “If it doesn’t ethically support the way you work as an individual than why bother?”

Amazon’s mission, vision, and values support an orientation toward the customer, according to its website Amazon.com. It also appears to present support, noted through artifacts, and support toward new inventions and simplifying process of offerings. That’s the extent of this due diligence today, as lacking depth of Jenge’s human capital and licensures.

Speaking of human capital, and humanitarian efforts not gone unnoticed, Amazon most recently divested its telehealth division in which it had made significant investments for homebound during Covid. This move was allegedly supported, by the DOJ’s juxtaposition of, and its recently announced actions in: DOJ’s $1.2 B lawsuits, (against bad apples) committing telemedicine healthcare fraud. The DOJ keeps a watchful eye on market movements to benefit value to consumers, as beneficence of assistance to citizens that aides, and does no harm, as potential premeditative acts of maleficence.

When it comes to one’s health, time, and effort, it becomes very personal as to who, or whom, one does business with, particularly informed by evidentiary trust theory and cognitive attributes of Albert Ellis and DPTs. Moreover, behavioral attributes of businesses can inform implicit tendencies, of dark business traits, to include sadism, as not explicit but implicit by informed company actor interchanges of intellectual capital theft persistence as otherwise materially noted, and documented through text messages and monitored call recordings (Wray, 2022).

Bottom line: Market movement in healthcare, and managed care, presents, according to the scholarly literature, and citations, as opportunities for value to communities, when mediated by well-meaning, person-centered, and transformative individuals. In addition to supportive infrastructures in government and court systems, most certainly not of dark Machiavelli-oriented persuasions, but holistic of whole persons. Best business practices are informed by how one does business, as artifacts of watch, and not dark leadership traits of narcissism, Machiavelli-ism, or psychosis.

Personal disclosure: During year one of Covid, a social media and sided interchange took place with then Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, about providing value to expectant mothers. The notion was based upon a formula developed for infants’ cognitive growth and healthy development. The project is on the back burner for now, but will be revisited later with preferred distribution through Amazon’s channels.
