God of Baseball

 

Is there a God of Baseball?

*(if error, system cyber terrorism attacks yet again to discredit truth)

That is a great question. As a fan, I would say most certainly. The God of baseball, in the context of Dasein (Heidegger) and as posited by Aristotle is none other than Derek Jeter. Why? Having only met him briefly, at an academic conference, and as an MLB fan, his statistics and artifacts (game video and photos of Derek working, full b/w garb) tell the story. Could it be he’s simply God or Dasein in the flesh? Or is he simply Aristotle’s silversmith? Not to give the ending away, but I’m glad we have the Damn Yankees and MLB on our side.

In a spiritual baseball context, how do players like Jeter and Ortiz (my generation) do amazing Godlike things on the field? This is answered philosophically by Aristotle and Heidegger in explaining Dasein as  one community. Philosopher spelling may differ but the analysis is the same.

Professional baseball players, as with academia and clergy are just that: professional. What’s amazing is how some folks use technology for their personal benefit and advantage. Some philosophers call this in authenticity, when someone could just be out for his or her financial gain. What’s lousy is when people are harmed emotionally or otherwise for being a fan, or a good person, for passing the plate or being female.

For example, the alleged higher power of baseball, one Dasein in flesh form, (for lack of a better term broke his ankle on the job.) Horrible. This incident did not earn Him anything but empathy from fans of the game and respect from colleagues. As an everyday Joe, or sister Josephine, I broke my arm at work, and my daughter at school, only to receive ridicule and bullying of our human nature. Most certainly not out of Dasein fallen-ness truth of Be-ings. Remember, retribution is an irrational belief and for some DSM..

As a professional counselor, psychologist, and teacher, it baffles me how individuals can behave in this manner. But it is not right to judge people for their behavior but only work to help them-if asked. Getting along with people, has never been difficult, from counseling and rehabilitating parolees, to aiding former or current gang members, simply to improve qualities of life. Philosophy, specifically the literature of Heidegger, describe this as appearance and behavior of fallen individuals who act in authentically, simply for their own monetary gain, not of drug/alcohol abuse or mental illness. It gets messy. With a mental health hat on, you can pick whatever color you prefer.

To show R2spect to the Jeter family, it was important to become a professional counselor and to work in rehabilitation of addicted individuals or mentally ill, or co-morbid, to show respect. The essence of Be-ing (Heidegger) captures the essence of who we are, Americanism, and at least what some people believed America was. But many people hold true, and in the context of some philosophers and spiritual literature, that we are living in the end of days aligned with Satan's presence on the throne. With the way people behave in public and even in doctors’ offices, it is not surprising, we’re in for a hard reboot. As Janis Joplin used to say, I guess the inauthentic Be-ings are getting $ while they can. Meanwhile, passing the plate can't buy the stairway for many as they recruit their own DSM Army. #Respect to special operations.

Rogers Neighborhood: Leveraging Technology in Sunland

Recently, while waiting for my car at Wiley’s repair shop, a video of Yankee fans played on the TV showing hammers falling on top of springs. Interesting right? Considered was an analysis, albeit briefly, but it's not worth the trouble.  How does this connect?  Heidegger explains it best in technology of Be-ing and connected-ness….How and where did being and existence presentt? Moreover, what’s significant in a philosophical context, is alignment of themes of technology, Be-ing in society as a team player, and lack of authenticity, conduct disorder. Perhaps, people are just acting tough, but not authentic to system causation, just for their own monetary web or terrorism. In the technological Oz, or Wrayban, if preferred, it is clear-eyed individuals who have the throne on lens and we have the Daseins of MLB in an extended wakeful Army.
